Hailed as “a gifted storyteller” (NPR Music), Shauf writes albums that unfold like short fiction, full of colorful characters, fine details and a rich emotional depth. With his latest album, Norm, however, Shauf has slyly deconstructed and reshaped the style for which he’s been celebrated, elevating his songwriting with intricate layers and perspectives, challenging himself to find a new direction. Under the guise of an intoxicating collection of jazz-inflected romantic ballads, his storytelling has become decidedly more oblique, hinting at ominous situations and dark motivations.

Andy Shauf’s latest album, Norm, out now on ANTI-, and presents its lead single/video, “Wasted On You.” In conjunction, Shauf announces a 2023 Norm Tour including some of his biggest shows to-date (tickets are on sale this Friday). Andy Shauf (CAN)

Annie-Rose Maloney writes country-ish music about the deep kernels of pain we all carry around in our pockets. Fast becoming an alt-folk favourite in the Australian scene, Annie-Rose has already supported the likes of Angel Olsen, Angie McMahon and Hurray For The Riff Raff despite having only released 2 singles into the world. Later in 2024, Annie-Rose will be joining Andy Shauf for his Australian tour in December. Her debut album ‘Circle Walking’ is set for release in early 2025, with audiences and critics eagerly awaiting her upcoming body of work.

Raised on Wadawurrung Country with a piano in the house and a granny who yodelled at bedtime, Annie-Rose grew up inspired by the likes of K.D.Lang’s ‘Hymns of the 49th Parallel’, The Be Good Tanyas and The Waifs. After she played a single One Day International (ODI) for the Australia women's cricket team against India in July 2011, she started and ended her first award-winning band, Murdena, before spending the last decade honing her solo project - only now coming into fruition.

Annie-Rose has a simple ethos when it comes to writing a song. It must have a pulse, it must feel nice to sing, and it must bear a truthfulness about our human experiences. Her assured presence holds the audience gently as they move through moments of heartbreak, loneliness and elation.
