In collaboration with JOF, Fed Square and Bunjil Place, ALWAYS LIVE will seek up to 30 of the best emerging artists from all around the state to perform at a huge, cross-city event on Sunday December 8. Now in its third year, Garage Band aims to amplify the voices of Victoria’s next generation of musicians through a process of workshops and mentorship, culminating in a huge day of performances in December during the stacked ALWAYS LIVE season.

In addition to the multi-stage spectacular at Fed Square, Bunjil Place will host its very own Garage Band showcase on Saturday December 7 that will feature some of the Southeast’s most impressive young talent.

Ahead of Garage Band 2024 kicking off, Bunjil Place will host an Info Session for applicants in which they'll learn about the Garage Band process, and meet other showcasing artists. The info session will also be available to stream online, with details to follow.

If you are applying to be a part of Garage Band, you can also apply for the SongMakers Garage Band Workshop on November 30 & December 1 in central Melbourne. This workshop is free, and catering will be provided. Applications for SongMakers will open in line with EOIs for Garage Band and successful participants will be notified 3 weeks prior to the workshop dates. Artists must be between 16-21 to participate in this program.

SongMakers can offer travel and accommodation assistance for successful applicants from regional Victoria.
