Two families meet in a collaborative ceremony called Yerambooee. Wurundjeri, Woi-Wurrung and Yolngu from North East Arnhem Land present a gathering of song, ceremony and dance on an enormous sand circle in Fed Square, open and free to the general public.
This free event captures the essence of traditional and contemporary ceremony with ritual, dance, and interaction. The general public will be welcomed and introduced to many aspects and meanings of dances and songs by Wurundjeri, and Yolngu.
Led and hosted by Senior elder Aunty Joy Murphy and Arnhem Land senior law man Don Wininba, Yolŋu and Wurundjeri performers, will open your world to a unique and epic experience celebrating the iconic legends of Gurrumul and Barak.
Yerambooee is a free, all-ages and family friendly event. It is a part ALWAYS LIVE, a 17-day state-wide celebration of contemporary live music supported by the Victorian Government through Visit Victoria.
