ALWAYS LIVE Garage Band presented by JOF & Fed Square is one of the most anticipated events in the ALWAYS LIVE calendar and 2023 is shaping up to be huge!

ALWAYS LIVE teamed up with JOF to search all over Victoria for the freshest young talent to get on stage at Fed Square, right in the middle of Melbourne, and we'e found 26 incredible muso's.

Keep reading to learn a little about some of the artists performing at Garage Band 2023.

JHM

JHM has performed on stages across the world, earned a position as runner-up of New Zealand's Got Talent and released a debut album, all before her 13th birthday. She's already shared the stage with artists like Hiatus Kaiyote, and the Fed Square stage is next on her list.

Angelfish

It's hard to define Angelfish, but to quote the band themselves, they're an 'emotional feminist punk band making noise'.

Berkeley

Berkeley are a 4-piece surf rock band who only stepped onto the scene last year, but they've already sold out headline shows, becoming known for their energetic live performance.

Crushed Lavender

Crushed Lavender are setting out to bring their riot grrrl-inspired sound to the local music scene, drawing on influences like Bikini Kill, The Runaways and The Regrettes. Think screaming rage, ghost-stories and everything in between.

Jarrah Olive

Hailing from Daylesford, Jarrah Olive crafts heartfelt, diaristic songs that sound like all the late night messages you didn't send. Dreamy melodies and incisive lyrics, she explores themes from heartbreak to friendship and the vulnerability and ridiculousness of being a young women in the world.

COOLDAD

Not only do COOLDAD deliver an indie-rock sound, but their unique live performances, sprinkled with terrible dad jokes, have gained them a following from all across Melbourne.

Goodbye Butterfly

What do you get when you bring together a close group of friends who admire each other's talents and love writing and recording songs in their bedrooms? You get Fliney, a newly born indie/alternative/garage rock band, inspired by artists like Boygenius, Billie Eilish, men i trust and Radiohead.

At just 14 years old, Indiana Lewis is already sharing her beautifully honest lyrics with the world, infusing addictive pop-rock sounds into her live performance, while also drawing from the dream-pop and folk music she's grown up listening to.
